IGLYO board and secretariat meeting took place from 27-30 July in Barcelona, Spain. The meeting focused on planning the Annual Members’ Conference 2017, happening at the end of September on Croatia. Board members had an opportunity to have an exchange of views with the Secretariat.
IGLYO also welcomed its newest member, Cátia Figueiredo, as a board member. Cátia is a Marine Biologist dedicated to the study of the effects of climate change from Lisbon, Portugal and she has been an LGBTQI activist for over 10 years.
The agenda included hearing the feedback from the Activist Academy; writing the IGLYO’s Annual Report 2017; review of the statutes and board motions; overviewing membership fees, strategic objectives consultations and the membership applications. Four organisations were agreed on joining the family of IGLYO: LGBTI+ Gozo (Malta), Saplinq (Slovakia), CURE Foundation (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and ECOM (Estonia).
On Saturday, IGLYO met its member organisation from Barcelona. It Gets Better Spain joined IGLYO for a discussion over the dinner table at a local restaurant.
This exchange of views was followed by a discussion of the trends and the plans for the future of IGLYO.
The last meeting of 2017 will be happening in Tallinn, Estonia in November.
