In a new IGLYO article titled "Pinkwashing & Homonationalism", we explore how a veneer of LGBTQI Inclusion is used as a PR tool by states hoping to endear themselves to LGBTQI people and their allies.
As the LGBTQI movement strives towards intersectionality we must consider how the language of LGBTQI equality is co-opted as a means of image management. The links between Pinkwashing and Islamophobia are clear, and as a community, we must challenge pinkwashing when we see it.
