New IGLYO Programmes Manager: Thank you Tudor, and welcome Viola!

April 17, 2023

Our Programmes have a new Manager

In April 2023, the IGLYO team changed Programmes Manager. While it's time to say a huge thank you to our dear team member Tudor, we are happy to welcome our new colleague Viola in the IGLYO team:

Thank you, Tudor!

A seasoned LGBTQI activist, Tudor joined IGLYO in 2015 and was one of the organisation’s first official employees. Over the past 8 years, Tudor put all his heart in empowering and building the confidence of our Members and LGBTQI young people from across the world. He played a key role in making our programmes what they are today, and was notably at the genesis of our now renowned Activist Academy.

Here are some goodbye words Tudor wanted to address to our Members and all LGBTQI young people out there:

‘What is empowerment? I heard somewhere that power is not something you take or you buy, because it's not a product or a merchandise. Power is something you build for yourself. It's something you gain with time and work, and this is also why you learn to use it well. At IGLYO, I have had the honour to offer you, young LGBTIQ people from everywhere, small and modest opportunities for empowerment, so that you can grow in your power. So grow in your power, and do good for yourselves and for the rest of us!'

Thanks a million, Tudor, for all the passion, dedication and mentorship, and for inspiring us with your activism. We are extremely thankful, and we will miss you. All the best with what comes next!

Welcome, Viola!

Viola started her journey into LGBTQI+ activism as a volunteer of the European Students' Forum, where she led a working group on combatting discrimination based on gender, gender identity and expression, and sexual orientation, as well as several projects on gender and LGBTQI+ mainstreaming.

Over the years, her work has also focused on youth participation, civic education, and youth empowerment, setting the stage for her new role at IGLYO.

Viola is passionate about non-formal education and peer-learning. In her free time, she practices circus and acrobatic disciplines, enjoys climbing and hiking, and listens to a lot of random podcasts.

She’ll now take the reins of our Programmes department, ready to keep on empowering and building the confidence of LGBTQI young people from across the globe!

Let’s all give a warm welcome to our new colleague Viola! We’re much looking forward to working together with her.
