SKUC Magnus

MAGNUS is a gay section at ŠKUC (Students Cultural Centre). It was founded in 1984 as the Cultural Organisation for Socialisation of Homosexuality. Its first and most important roles were organising the MAGNUS Festival with a wide variety of activities to make an acceptable homosexual lifestyle.

The Tiffany Club is a safe space dedicated to the LGBTIQ, co-created by everyone at ŠKUC. The Cultural Centre Q is a project of the Tiffany Club.

Their mission

ŠKUC Magnus' mission is to:

  • Encourage creativity, artistic creation, and cultural participation of Slovenian LGBTIQ (lesbian, gay, transgender, intersex and queer) people;
  • Present and document Slovenian LGBTIQ art and culture;
  • Map Slovenia LGBTIQ art and culture on the world map, so as to connect with LGBTIQ artists and cultural centres abroad;
  • Explore and support subcultures and alternatives within the LGBTIQ community;
  • Raise awareness on community-based prevention, safe sex and HIV and AIDS prevention.
