About

Proces

Process (or in Croatian Proces) – Association for the Promotion of Queer Culture and LGBTIQ+ Rights organises exhibitions, concerts, workshops, artist talks, and discussions, and produces a radio programme of the same name, all with the goal of creating safe spaces, be it in-person or virtual, for the celebration of different identities. They have found that using art and culture as a tool helps them in reaching the public and sensitising them with the daily struggles the LGBTIQ+ community goes through.

Process puts emphasis on supporting young and emerging artists from the LGBTIQ+ community, and organising events directed to youths — LGBTIQ+ youths as a special focus, but also their non-queer peers. By creating a community that accepts differences, they are creating a safe community for all of its members.

Their mission

Process' mission is to promote, develop, and advance queer art and culture, and advance the rights of LGBTIQ+ persons. They are organising cultural and art events, educational programmes and workshops. They are also actively raising the visibility of LGBTIQ+ community while promoting the development of public discourse about the LGBTIQ+ community and queer culture.

Process aims to develop and protect human rights and freedoms, to promote a culture of non-violence and equality in society, to suppress and eliminate lesbo/homo/bi/transphobia in society, as well as sexism, misogyny, and other social phenomena that contribute to inequality.

Process works towards the abolition of discrimination based on sex/gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or gender expression, while promoting values of tolerance, peace, non-violence, justice, democratic and civil society, and self-empowerment.
