Equality Movement is the largest queer organisation in Georgia. They aim at creating equal rights and opportunities for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer and intersex people and women in Georgia.
They achieve this by fostering the integration of LGBTQI people and women into society by empowering LGBTQI communities and women, carrying out awareness activities on LGBTQI and women rights issues, and advocating their interests.
They provide social and legal services to empower and mobilise LGBTQI communities and women, as well as public awareness raising campaigns and policy and advocacy interventions.
Equality Movement aspires to live in a society in which people’s gender identity or sexual orientation is not a cause for exhibiting violence or other forms of aggression, and where women and the LGBTQI community are equal members of the society.
In order to bring this vision to life, their mission is to support women and the LGBTQI community to ensure their proper integration in the society, and, at the same time, to facilitate the eradication of sexism and homophobia in society.
With this in mind, the organisation provides social and legal services based on the needs of the beneficiaries, works towards mobilising the community, and conducts interventions related to policy and advocacy, and social awareness.
