About

Budapest Pride

Budapest Pride is an LGBTIQ organisation operating with a feminist and anti-racist approach. They have been responsible for organising the Budapest Pride March, the Budapest Pride Festival, and several campaigns and events over the years.

Budapest Pride works in a participatory democratic model with a decision-making board of 5-6 members and a horizontal structure in which coordinators, project members and volunteers can directly access the board through a mentoring system. They hold expertise in fundraising, community building, online communication, event organising, volunteer recruitment, project management, training, demonstrations, and political pressure.

Their mission

Budapest Pride envisions a world where LGBTIQ people don't experience systemic and everyday discrimination because of their gender identity and/or sexual orientation; where society doesn't impose norms, roles on its members; where no one would be the target of harassment, violence; where diversity is a value; and where people accept themselves and each other, recognise the importance of self-knowledge, and actively do something to improve their environment.
