Asociația Pride is an LGBTQ+ organisation established in 2017 in the heart of Transylvania. Founded on the rich history of an informal group that has long championed LGBTQ+ rights locally, their organisation is dedicated to amplifying the voices and visibility of the LGBTQ+ community in the city of Cluj-Napoca and beyond.
As the driving force behind Cluj Pride, the sole Pride march in the region, they infuse their local community with colour, energy and optimism. Through their diverse range of activities, from workshops and support group sessions to film screenings and community picnics, they raise awareness about LGBTQ+ issues, combat discrimination, and empower individuals to embrace their true selves.
Asociația Pride's aspiration is to contribute to the national dialogue on issues affecting us and our families and take a leading role in reshaping Romanian society into an inclusive and nurturing environment where all LGBTQ+ individuals feel valued, respected, and celebrated.
Asociația Pride's mission is to promote human rights, respect for diversity, social inclusion, and the protection of vulnerable groups, as well as anti-discriminatory behaviour within Romania’s civil society. They are dedicated to democratic values, supporting individual rights and freedoms, promoting social justice, and encouraging community involvement.
Asociația Pride strives to create a favourable social context that allows for the expression of both collective and individual identities of LGBTQIA community members at the local, national, and international levels.They are committed to promoting social equity and combating all forms of discrimination, hate speech, and violence based on individuals' belonging to a vulnerable group.
Finally, they aim to foster a culture of solidarity with LGBTQIA individuals and those belonging to other vulnerable groups by creating services that meet their needs.
