Against Conversion Therapy (ACT) is a French association, based in Lyon. It has been established in 2023 and is blooming since then. ACT is advocating for a complete EU-wide ban on "conversion practices" (so-called conversion therapies).
ACT's main and only mission is to set up a European Citizens' Initiative (ECI) to call on the European Commission to propose a complete EU-wide ban on "conversion practices".
A European Citizens' Initiative is a Participative Democracy Mechanism which allows a group of at least 7 EU citizens, living in different Member States to ask the European Commission to take actions on a certain matter. To be "validated" an ECI needs to be backed by 1 million proof of supports in the form of online signatures.
Hence, ACT, with the help of several other international organisations, is launching an ECI entitled "Ban on conversion therapies in the EU".
