ACATHI: Migració, Refugi i Diversitat LGBTIQ+ was the first organisation of LGBTIQ+ migrants and refugees in Spain, existing since 2003. They are a reference in defending the community and are very active in civic participation spaces. They offer real hospitality based on the specific needs of LGBTIQ+ migrants and refugees.
ACATHI is an association with diverse identities that form the essence of a vision of hospitality. This vision transforms into a strategy to promote the recognition and inclusion of cultural, sexual, and gender diversity with the purpose of preventing and alleviating discrimination and persecution. Many people flee because of who they are and who they love. ACATHI helps in their reception.
ACATHI works in very diverse contexts such as prisons, awareness-raising, caring for vulnerable people, and advocacy. The association is made up of people from diverse backgrounds: migrants, refugees, and/or LGTBIQ+ (in all their diversity).

These include exclusion from property ownership or access to credit, limited access to education or job opportunities, fear of violence or persecution, and a lack of humanitarian protection."
With this in mind, ACATHI's mission is to create opportunities for LGBTI migrants and refugees to reach their potential in life, and to create innovative models for sustainable, scalable, and replicable social change.
