IGLYO currently has several opportunities for you to become involved in the work of the organisation. From becoming part of the leadership of the LGBTQ movement as a board member to attending an exciting consultation held with UNAIDS and ILGA-Europe, we want you to contribute to the work of IGLYO.
Read below about the different opportunities.
Call for nominations to the executive board of IGLYO
Due to coming changes in the Executive Board of International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Youth and Student Organisation (IGLYO), we are now looking to co-opt a new Board Member for the remainder of the year. The new Executive Board Member’s mandate would start on May 27th 2014 and would run until December 31st 2014.
Call for rapporteurs on intersectionality
Following IGLYO’s successful roundtable on socioeconomic status, we are now announcing the call for rapporteurs for the next three roundtables in our series on intersectionality. Through these three focused discussions, we will explore the identity strands of gender, ethnicity, and disability and how they overlap for LGBTQ young people.
Call for consultation organized jointly by UNAIDS, ILGA Europe and IGLYO, Geneva, 15-16 July 2014
The LGBTQI rights movement has a significant potential to leverage its momentum and regain its role as a strong political voice and force for the HIV response, anchored in a broader agenda for health, equality and inclusion. This consultation will bring together young leaders of the LGBTQ movement to discuss ways forward.
Call for task force members to draft a teacher’s guide to inclusive education
Aiming to build on our work in the area of education and following the launch of several materials on combatting homophobic and transphobic bullying, we are currently looking to develop a teacher’s guide to ensure inclusive education for all people, regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity or expression. IGLYO is recruiting two to three task force members to work on this important resource.
