As part of the European Commission’s new LGBTI campaign, Commissioner Jourová attended EuroPride 2016 on their campaign boat- ‘We Share The Same Dreams’. IGLYO Co-Chair, Kyveli-George Papadimitriou, commented that, ‘This public commitment to LGBTI rights sends an important message to all European governments.” They continued to say that, “IGLYO welcomes such signs of solidarity and support from the Commission and looks forward to continuing our work together to further the LGBTI rights agenda in Europe”.
IGLYO also attended the event, joining our member organisation COC Netherlands. Using the slogan #LoveWins, their boat encouraged pride goers to also take a moment to remember LGBTQI people who had or continue to experience violence amidst the celebrations.
