Under the #IGLYOeLearning initiative, IGLYO would like to organise a series of 1 hour online informal interactive panels. We would like to invite activists from our member organisations with experience or interest in the following topics to be speakers/panelists during these workshops:
- Providing services to LGBTQI young people online. What have we been doing online so far and what services that we have provided in face-to-face settings we could possibly move online?
- Working with adolescents, teens and pre-youth people. What makes it different from working with young adults? What are the advantages and challenges?
- Sex and relationships, education and training. What is different about how NGOs and schools do it (if they do it at all)? What are some community settings where we have seen or done sex and relationships education for LGBTQI youth?
- Growing from a small grassroot group to a bigger more established organisation. What are the pains of transition? How can we be prepared for becoming bigger and how to avoid the pitfalls?
The panels will take place on Zoom for 1 hour. Each expert will speak for 5-8 minutes, and then we will take questions from the audience. As we aim to keep the panels as interactive as possible, the places in the meeting will be limited to 20 people and participation will be ensured on a first-come-first-served basis. With the approval of participants, we can record the meeting and make it available as a video after the meeting.
If you are interested to participate as a speaker/expert, please email olave@iglyo.com and tudor@iglyo.com with a short draft of what you would like to present on any of the topics above before 15 April.
We are looking forward to seeing many of you offering to share your experience with our network!
