Call for Participants
LGBTQI youth experience specific challenges when it comes to their health, as well as experiencing discrimination in accessing healthcare. There is a lack of protection for LGBTQI youth and pathologisation of trans, non-binary and intersex young people.
IGLYO is delighted to announce that we will carry out a conference in Zagreb on 10-15 November 2022 on the topic of Health and Advocacy. The conference will be organised in partnership with our Member Organisation, kolekTIRV, an association for the promotion and protection of the rights of trans, intersex and gender variant (in Croatian trans, interspolnih i rodno varijantnih or TIRV) people.
With this conference, we will build capacity among the participants to advocate for the fulfilment of the right to health of LGBTQI young people. Specifically, we aim to equip young LGBTQI activists with knowledge, skills and proactive attitudes concerning their right to health, as well as providing young LGBTQI activists with a structured opportunity to build connections and motivation to become part of IGLYO’s Youth Advocacy Group.
How will the conference be organised?
The conference will take place from Thursday 10 November to Tuesday 15 November 2022 (this includes one day for arrivals and one day for departures). It will consist of several in-person workshops, meetings and discussions between Friday 11 November to Monday 14 November.
The conference is free of charge and IGLYO will cover your accommodation, travel and food. IGLYO will be booking and providing accommodation for everyone who attends the event. However, you are expected to book and pay for your travel to the event and we will reimburse your travel costs up to 250€ after the conference as long as you comply with our refund and reimbursement policy requirements.
The conference will take place in English. Upon prior request, we can provide transcription services in English for deaf, Deaf, or HoH individuals during workshops, meetings, and discussions included in the program.
