Organizational Development

IGLYO is happy to invite you to participate in a capacity building seminar with the goal to assist your organization to develop. This call is particularly aimed at member organisations who have been running for three years or less or are still at an early stage of development. Please read below more information about this invitation.

IGLYO is an international umbrella organisation that aims to empower and enable its members to ensure representation of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer youth and student issues. Run by young people and for young people, IGLYO’s approach promotes cooperation and joint strategies, and often advocates on behalf of Members to international bodies, institutions and other organisations. The seminar will provide participants with diverse knowledge and skills to assist their organizations in their internal development. The seminar is kindly supported by the Dutch Minister of Education, Culture and Science and the EU Commission Directorate Justice.

WHAT:

The goal of the seminar is to increase the capacity of your organizations to:

These topics will be tailored to best fit the  needs assessments of successful applicants. Please take time to give us as much information as possible in the Application Form, because it will help us design a seminar that meets your needs.

WHEN AND WHERE:

The event will take place in Brussels, Belgium, from Saturday 18 April to Sunday 19 April  (1 and a half working days). Travel days are: Friday 17 April and Sunday 19 April, in the afternoon, after the conclusion of the seminar.

HOW MUCH:

If your application to participate is successful, we will send you a notification. After you receive the notification, we recommend you start making travel arrangements immediately. All travel arrangements must be finalized before 23 March.

Participants must pay a conference registration fee of Euro 25. However, if this amount becomes a major barrier against your participation, please contact us urgently. All accommodation and food will be provided by IGLYO. All reasonable travel expenses and visa costs will be reimbursed. Participants are expected to search for the cheapest mode of transport available due to limited funding. Reimbursement will take place by bank transfer after the conference.

The seminar will be conducted in English. Your English doesn’t have to be perfect but no interpretation will be provided.

A number of 8 participants will be selected on the basis of the perceived needs of their organization. Priority will be given to participants representing an IGLYO full member organization and a fairly recent organization.
