Call To Members: Intersectional Identity Survey

Dear Members of IGLYO,The International Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer Youth and Student Organisation (IGLYO) would like to undertake a research study with the goal to investigate examples of how lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) youth organisations, their staff, volunteers and service users, practice inclusion and participation of people with intersectional identities. The result will be used to help organisations and activists improve their structures and work practices in order to become more inclusive.The addition of intersectionality in the work of the organisation built upon a long tradition of recognising that LGBTQ young people are not only defined by their sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or age, but that they have many different aspects of identity that are experienced at the same time, and in conjunction with the main foci of IGLYO.As part of the initial phase of the project, IGLYO is committed to collect general information about the topic and to find potential participants for in-depth research among our member organisations. In order to do so, we invite you to complete and submit the baseline survey on LGBTQ organisations and intersectional identities before 7th September 2015 (CET).In order to get quality data, it is important to have multiple angles to the subject, so, in addition to someone in your staff or leadership filling in the survey, we would like to ask you to circulate it among your members and/or clients/service users (at least 2 different people), if you believe they would be interested in taking part in the project and/or providing information through the survey.

The survey takes between 5 and 10 minutes to complete.

In order to guarantee participants’ anonymity and confidentiality, the answers to each survey will be submitted and stored online through IGLYO’s secured account. We will only use your name and contact information to get in touch with you for the second phase of the research and we will not disclose your name or contact information with anyone.
