Call for article submissions for IGLYO on Bullying

IGLYO

We are excited to offer IGLYO members and LGBTQ activists around the world a possibility to contribute to our next issue of the quarterly bulletin ‘IGLYO on…’. In line with our thematic year for 2013, the next issue will be titled IGLYO On Bullying, where we will highlight ways to move forward on the topic of homophobic and transphobic bullying in schools and elsewhere.

We are looking for 6 articles of around 800-1000 words each for this issue. If you are interested in contributing, and have relevant knowledge/experience in the field, please choose a topic from the list below, and send an email to our secretariat at office@iglyo.com. You can also suggest a  topic of your own choice, as long as it is related to perspectives of LGBTQ young people on the topic of bullying.

Suggested topics:

1. Perspectives on personal experiences of bullying
2. Student organizing to combat bullying
3. Engaging teachers and administrators to tackle bullying
4. Advocating for anti-bullying policies
5. Cyber bullying

Interested contributors are welcome to contact us no later than the 30 May 2013 with 1) the article (in a Word Document format), 2) a short paragraph describing the author and author’s work/activism. You may also submit your photo for the article. If you are interested, we encourage you to let us know in advance of the final deadline to ensure we have a variety of perspectives. All inquires and submissions should be sent to office@iglyo.com.

IGLYO on Bullying  will be published in June 2013.
