IGLYO is the world’s largest LGBTQI Youth and Student organisation, counting more than 100 Member Organisations in over 40 countries across the Council of Europe Region. IGLYO’s mission is to advance the protection of the rights of LGBTQI youth, fight for equality and inclusion, and empower LGBTQI youth voices through international training and events, thematic research and advocacy campaigns, online tools and resources, networking activities, and much more.
Today we count over 100 Member Organisations in almost every Council of Europe Member State. Our Members are organisations who represent and/or support LGBTQI youth and/or students, work with LGBTQI youth or issues, comprise mainly of LGBTQI youth, or have a specific department working for/with youth.
IGLYO advocates for education that is truly safe for and inclusive of all learners. IGLYO’s LGBTQI Inclusive Education Project maps and reports the situation for LGBTQI learners in school in every Council of Europe Member State.
Run by young people for young people, IGLYO is led by a Board of youth activists aged 18–30, working in collaboration with the Secretariat and with the support of a Governance Team.
We strengthen LGBTQI youth rights, fight for equality and inclusion, and strive to represent the intersectional needs of LGBTQI youth within international, European, and national policy and legal mechanisms, with a specific focus on Inclusive Education, Health, and Hate Crime.
We train, support, and build the capacity and skills of LGBTQI youth organisations, activists, leaders, and volunteers to represent, advocate on behalf of, and serve our communities more effectively, influencing sustainable societal change and increasing the visibility of our movements.
We foster international cooperation across Europe and beyond by maintaining and growing an engaged, connected, and well-functioning pan-European network of LGBTQI youth organisations and activists, which facilitates peer-learning and support.
