Joint IGLYO & ILGA-Europe Project: Intergenerational Dialogue with(in) the LGBTQ Community
IGLYO recently advertised an open call for the position of Project Coordinator for the "Intergenerational Dialogue with(in) the LGBTQ Community"-project, which is funded by the European Commission through ILGA-Europe and conducted jointly by IGLYO and ILGA-Europe.
The project's goal is to assess the needs of the LGBTQ community's different generations, i.e. explore the generational gap between younger and older LGBTQ. An integral part of this will include research on intergenerational issues by drawing on academic literature, policy papers as well as state-of-the-art existing projects. As part of this project, a team of expert volunteers will be formed as an advisory body to the Project Coordinator. Essential to this project will be the execution of two round tables, scheduled for June and October 2008 respectively. At the first round table, experts and members of the LGBTQ community will be invited to discuss issues faced by younger and older LGBTQ. The second round table will also open up to non-LGBTQ organisations and experts in order to assess the potential for collaboration with regard to the findings of the project. A final report will summarise the results of the project and will give an indication with regard to the relevance and importance of this field of research.
The successful candidate for the position of Project Coordinator is Sylvi Paulick – a German national and student of Gender Studies and European Ethnology at Humboldt University Berlin, Germany. She will coordinate the project for its entire duration from May 2008 until January 2009. Her contact details are:
