When it comes down to LGBTQ youth issues, a lot of work is axed around helping the community. There is a strong need for community-sustaining projects, and we believe that no one can help young people better than… young people! We, young people, when finding the spirit, show limitless enthusiasm to help our peers. We have the experience of going through the same issues, understanding each other without a generation gap, and having many creative resources. It is crucial to empower ourselves, young people, to help each other better.

For this reason, IGLYO is committed to empower LGBTQ youth organisations to help their communities and combat social exclusion of LGBTQ youth.

This conference aims to:

• Learn about community-based projects;
• Explore how to implement them in different NGOs under different political, structural and social circumstances;
• How to use community-based projects to strengthen NGOs' capacity to support their local, regional or national LGBTQ young communities.
