Upcoming IGLYO event: "Enlightenment"
Dear school student activists and LGBT activists across Europe,
Earlier in the year, OBESSU and IGLYO organised a common study session "Understanding and developing and implementing LGBT-inclusive policies in European Secondary Schools (UDIP)", in Strasbourg from the 16 th to the 22nd April 2007.
Participants of the study session asked for more knowledge and training in doing information work within school, how to approach the school itself, and how to create campaigns about LGBT issues in school.
In partnership with LLH Oslo and Akershus, IGLYO is organising a follow-up training course in Oslo, from the 30th January to the 3rd February 2008.
This training course aims to build upon the information and knowledge gathered in Strasbourg, and to develop concrete strategies in how to campaign in schools all around Europe, focusing on actual work in Norwegian schools.
Since this meeting is a follow-up meeting, we will give priority to the participants of the April study session who are applying. However, we wish to open this training course to more participants, so please feel do apply even if you weren't with us in April.
The time schedule is tight, and therefore the application deadline is close: applications should be received before the 16th December at midnight CET at the latest.
The conference is a joint conference organised by IGLYO, OBESSU, LLH OA (Lesbian and Gay Liberation Assoctiation in Oslo and Akershus) and Skeiv Ungdom Oslo og Akershus (Queer Youth in Oslo and Akershus).
The conference has an important amount of partners, whose support we gratefully acknowledge: the International Gay and Lesbian Association in Europe (ILGA - Europe), FSS - Finlandssvenska Skolungdomsförbund, Akershus Fylkeskommune (Akershus county), Drustvo Informacijski Centre LEGIBITRA (Cultural Informational Counselling Center LEGIBITRA).
