IDAHO in 2006

Stop Homophobia!

On the 18th of January 2006 the European Parliament adopted a resolution in which it described homophobia as: "Irrational fear and or aversion to homosexuality and to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) people based on prejudice and similar racism, xenofobia, anti-semitism and sexism." Following this resolution the European Parliament organises a conference 'Ending the hate' around IDAHO, which aims to discuss what the European Parliament can do in order to combat homophobia.

Afterwards 102 representatives of European Youth Organisations signed a resolution in which they expressed their outrage on the latest outbreak of homophobia in Poland. Furthermore the representatives called upon the General Assembly of the United Nations to recognize IDAHO as an official calendar day.
