Call for article submission to IGLYO on Social Media and IGLYO on Sports

We are excited to offer our members and LGBTQ activists around the world a possibility to contribute to our next issues of our quarterly bulletin IGLYO on this time the themes are Social Media and Sports.

We have 6 spots for 800 words articles for the issue of IGLYO on Social media. If you’re interested in contributing, and have relevant knowledge/experience in the field, please choose a topic from the list below, and send an email to our board member, Despina Michaelidou, the coordinator of this issue (despina@iglyo.com). You can also suggest a topic of your own choosing, as long as it is related to the Social Media and clearly has an LGBTQI youth perspective.

Suggested topics for the IGLYO on Social Media are:

  1. The impact of social media on LGBTQI young people.
  2. Blogging as a tool for queer visibility.
  3. Video campaigns against bullying – How does it get better?
  4. Social media as an activism tool for LGBTQI youth.
  5. Social media, privacy & human rights of LGBTQI youth.
  6. Social media and outreach.

We have 5 spots for 800 words articles for this issue. If you’re interested in contributing, and have relevant knowledge/experience in the field, please choose a topic from the list below, and send an email to our board member, Nir Zernyak, the coordinator of this issue (nir@iglyo.com). You can also suggest a topic of your own choosing, as long as it is related to Sports and clearly has an LGBTQI youth perspective.

  1. Sports and gender
  2. Fighting bullying through sports
  3. OUT Athletes as role models
  4. LGBTQI youth and sports

Interested contributors please contact us no later than the 2nd of April 2012 with your topic of interest and a paragraph summarizing the main points to be further explored in the article. You may also submit a full article draft, but it is not guaranteed to be included. Full articles from selected contributors will be expected by 30th of April 2012.
